Deanna Tritinger Named Chatham University Head Coach

Former Pittsburgh Power player and current Pittsburgh Power coach Deanna Tritinger has been named the head softball coach at Chatham University.

In naming Ms. Tritinger head softball coach Chatham University Athletic Director Leonard Trevino had this to say: “Deanna Tritinger brings with her a wealth of coaching experience from right here in Pittsburgh. She looks forward to joining the Cougar family and getting started. We are excited to bring Deanna to Chatham. We are committed to moving our softball program forward and she is the right person to do so. Deanna comes with a lot of enthusiasm and energy; she knows the area well and is exactly the right fit for us."

Wamsley 10U Champions of Thunder Elite Fall League

Going 11-1 on the season, the Wamsley Power 06 team won a 3.5 hour battle to win the championship at the fall Thunder Elite league. The team fought back from being down early to defeat Ohio Thunder Elite in the final Sunday night.

Power Pfab 16U Finishes 2nd in WV State College Showcase

Pittsburgh Power Pfab 16U headed 4 hours south to Charleston WV to start its 2016/2017 season by playing in the WV State University College Showcase. The showcase had 10 teams and was scouted by 10 college coaches.

Power Pfab got contributions from the entire team in order to finish in 2nd place of the strong 10 team field. The team got great pitching from all three of its pitchers Ari Reager, Morgan Hall and Madison Brown. On Sunday with the help of some outstanding defense the pitchers gave up a total of 12 runs in 4 games.

Abby Allen Shines at Queen of the Diamonds South

Abby Allen of the Pittsburgh Power Wertheimer 14U team participated in the Queen of Diamonds College Showcase Labor Day weekend in South Carolina.  There were girls there from 21 states. Abby who is 13 was the youngest girl on her team as most of the girls were 15 or 16.

Abby played in six games over two days. The games were 50 minutes each and each girl averaged 2 at bats per game.  Abby was on base 8 out of her 12 at bats with 7 hits including a double and a walk.  She played mainly in the outfield where she did a very nice job fielding.

Congratulations to Abby for doing a wonderful job representing the Pittsburgh Power organization at this showcase.

2016 Power College Showcase

The 2016 Pittsburgh Power organization will be holding it's annual college showcase this Sunday, August 28th from 2PM - 6PM at Blueberry Hill Park. All players rostered on 2016-17 Pittsburgh Power teams entering their freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year in high school are eligible to participate in the showcase.

This is an exclusive event not provided by other travel teams in the area as a way for our players to showcase their talents in front of local college coaches. A full write-up, pictures and results will be posted here after the event.

Pittsburgh Power Players Logging The Miles

Between January 2016 and January 2017, several members of the Pittsburgh Power organization will be logging the airline miles as they participate in several softball related events. With the combination of athletic, cultural, and educational experiences, these players will have memories that will last a lifetime. Congratulations and best of luck to all players in their future endeavors.


Queen of Diamonds North - January 2016 - Kent State University

Mirjana Hutnik, Trinity Murphy, Hayden Powroznik, Samantha Pykare, and Kelsey Smith participated in the Queen of Diamonds North showcase. This showcase allowed our Pittsburgh Power players an opportunity to showcase their talents to college coaches. The core focus of this event was to market our organization’s players, resulting in the exposure needed to get on the radar screens of colleges and universities.

USSSA Futures All American Team - August 2016 - Kissimmee, FL

Trinity Murphy was named as a “direct select” to the U.S.S.S.A. Futures All American Team for the Northeast Region based on her incredible performance at the Pittsburgh Elite Select tryout on May 8th. There were 24 players selected from eight regions across the United States who participated in the games. Over the course of 6 days Trinity trained and played with some of the nation’s top players.

USA Elite Select 30 All American Camp - August 2016 - Tuscaloosa, AL

Mirjana Hutnik and Trinity Murphy were selected to participate in the USA Elite Select 30 All American Camp in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on August 19th - 21st. This tremendous honor allowed the girls to showcase their individual talents in front of a network of professional talent scouts, while experiencing three days of professional fast pitch action and two days of elite level skill testing and training.
